Edible Rocks!!!
As you may have read, Chef Richie at CommRow was a classmate of mine many years back at Glenn Hare (now known as AACT- The Academy of Arts, Careers and Technology). It was a great start to a culinary career for many young students who have gone on to work in great kitchens all over the country.
I’m happy to tell you about an upcoming event that ties this all together. This Friday edible Reno-Tahoe magazine is having their winter release party at CommRow with proceeds benefiting The Academy.
The Event
Chef Richie will be offering cooking demonstrations. Starting around 6:30, he will use local squash to create a great winter soup. His talents are extraordinary so I’m sure you won’t want to miss this!
edible Reno-Tahoe will be handing out their not-yet-released winter edition. The magazine features a great local businessman with Joe Dutra, founder of Kimmie Candy Company. They will have plenty of ChocoRocks to share!
Milton Merlos will be sharing his amazing Flamenco guitar music throughout the night. He’s one of those performers that grabs your attention and sticks in your head for a bit. Always a great show!
Students from The Academy will be on hand to prepare and serve food. Ask them about their experiences at the school. It’s an amazing program.
The Food
Just a highlight of what they’re serving-
- Fresh Fruit Smoothies
- Chipotle Braised Brisket Quesadillas
- Lamb Kebabs
- Organic Squash Soup
- And More!
